ENCE through to DreamHack Masters Dallas grand final over FaZe

ENCE have defeated FaZe 2-0 with two impressive comebacks to advance to the grand final at DreamHack Masters Dallas (19-16 on Dust2 and 16-13 on Train).

The semi-final series kicked off with FaZe's map pick, Dust2. ENCE started the game on offense and won the pistol round after Jere "⁠sergej⁠" Salo and Sami "⁠xseveN⁠" Laasanen found opening kills. FaZe inflicted a lot of damage on ENCE in the second round but Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli clutched a 1vs2 to make it 2-0.

FaZe got on the scoreboard in the fifth round thanks to Filip "⁠NEO⁠" Kubski's triple kill. Despite dropping the ball in the following round, FaZe then went on an nine-round run that put them 10-5 ahead at halftime. Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač's 1vs1 clutch and last-second defuse in the 14th round was a crucial moment in FaZe's streak.

ENCE came back from 14-6 on Dust2 and from 10-4 on Train

FaZe extended their lead to 12-5 to start the second half as Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard picked up five kills in the first two rounds. NiKo and company quickly made it 14-6 but ENCE didn't go down easily and reached double-digits when sergej picked up three kills in a 2vs3 in the 24th round (14-10).

xseveN secured ENCE's sixth consecutive round by picking up two kills in a 2vs2 and defended the B-site in the following round with two more kills as ENCE cut the deficit to only one round (14-13). With limited weaponry, FaZe took the B-site in the 28th round to earn two map points. They were unable to close out and ENCE forced overtime with two retakes on the A-site. The Finns completed their comeback and won the map with a 19-16 score.

FaZe's run in Dallas has come to an end

FaZe kicked off Train on the CT-side and grabbed seven of the first nine rounds. sergej and company then took two rounds in a row to trail 7-4 but FaZe reached double-digits with a three-round streak (10-4). ENCE won the final round of the half to trail 10-5 at halftime.

ENCE had the same start as FaZe did on the CT-side, winning seven of the first nine rounds (12-12). NEO and rain opened up A in the 25th round as FaZe reclaimed the lead immediately. ENCE responded in the following round despite having four USPs and a single AWP, tying the game at 13-13. The Finns then took the lead for the first time in the game with a successful retake on the A-site.

ENCE closed out the game with two more round victories, winning the map 16-13 and the series 2-0. With this semi-final triumph, the Finns have become Liquid's opponents in the DreamHack Masters Dallas grand final.
